As a child, I have a distinct memory of watching my mother paint and feeling compelled to try it out myself. The age of 12 was when I realized painting would always be a desire and passion of mine. This desire continued to my college years at the University of New York at Stony Brook. While I was studying there, a professor of mine suggested that I apply to an artist residency. With great surprise, I was accepted to the Chautauqua Institute with a partial scholarship in the summer of 2001...
