Garden Places by Paula Manchester designs and plants gardens, often with the idea of outside rooms flowing one into the other so that the homeowner can enjoy special areas of their property: a patio, a quiet nook, a peaceful pond, a lovely perennial border, or a welcoming front entrance. Trees and shrubs with four-season appeal orient the landscape so that a beautiful picture is presented from favorite places within the home as well. The architectural style of the home and privacy needs are especially considered.
Paula personally consults, assesses, designs, and supervises the installation of your garden. She has over twenty-five years experience in all phases of the garden art and is especially familiar with resources for the more unusual plants that grow well in this climate. Her own garden in the Three Village area has been photographed for several gardening magazines.
Garden Places often collaborates with Steve Antos of Setauket Landscape Design and Construction for stone walls, paths, patios, and ponds so that the homeowner achieves an expertly prepared site, coordinated design, and timely completion.

I chose the name Sitescapes as a reflection of my design philosophies. One of which is site specific. Every project is approached as a unique opportunity to take the clients needs, along with existing site conditions and transform these into innovative solutions- Solutions that will enhance the use of your site as well as create its own individual charm. Your house and garden are not considered separate entities but seen as one cohesive unit, where horticulture and architecture are joined to create a harmonious spatial experience. The landscape that results is an experience in space and time. The motivator is the client, the backdrop is the site, and the outcome is one that the family derives great pleasure from.

Biography: While in High School I attended night school at SUNY Farmingdale for Ornamental Horticulture and received my Associates degree. My main area of interest was, and still is, Residential Design. My passion for this lead me to attend SUNY Environmental, Science & Forestry Landscape Architecture Program at Syracuse , NY.
Graduating Cum Laude, with a degree in Landscape Architecture, I now have the pleasure of doing what I love best in my own community. Since 1997 Sitescapes has been honored to be part of designing and landscaping beautiful properties in the Three Village Area.
